We are here to support survivors on their journey to healing and empowerment. Our team includes highly trained and compassionate professionals who understand the unique challenges faced by Black survivors of sexual assault. From crisis intervention and counseling to legal advocacy, we offer a wide range of services to survivors and their families on their Road to Happiness.

If you’re a survivor of sexual assault, we’re here to help. You deserve to be heard, supported, and empowered, and we’re here to provide the support and resources you need to move forward.

Empowering Black Survivors, Building Safer Communities

The Black Survivors of Sexual Assault (BSSA) Institute, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is on a mission to inspire safety, love, and health within the Black community.

Our primary goal is to provide a pathway of support and healing for Black survivors of sexual assault. We achieve this by delivering direct services to survivors and by offering culturally competent, trauma-informed training, and technical assistance to community-based organizations serving Black/African American survivors of sexual assault and abuse.
